We are always accepting applications for membership.

Are you ready to be challenged? Have you always wanted to give back to your community and just haven't figured out a way to do so? Then by becoming a member of the South Fayette Volunteer Fire Company may be for you. 

Whether you would like to become a full-fledged fire fighter or simply assist the fire department with their many administrative and fundraising duties, there is a place for those who are willing in our organization.

Applicants need to complete the application below and submit it to the South Fayette Volunteer Fire Department for review. New membership applications will be reviewed on the next monthly meeting by the members and candidates will go through a screening process. Please carefully read and follow instructions carefully as our application process has changes in July of 2016 to comply with state and federal laws for background checks. 

 

 

 

 

18 years of age and older. How to Apply?

We perfer that all applicants 18 years of age and older use this application and submit it online. Follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Download and save the Application to your computer.
Step 2: Complete the application fully and Save to your computer.

Step 3: Complete the application by clicking "SUBMIT"
Step 3: Print out completed application and bring a copy with you.
Step 4: Bring application to 661 Millers Run Road Cuddy, PA 15031
              Mondays 6:30PM - 9:00PM
              Thursdays 6:30PM - 9:00PM

Note: All applicants 18 and older must complete the three background clearances. Follow the directions carefully on the information sheet provided in the application package. ( ACT 34 PA CRIMINAL CLEARANCE, ACT 151 PA CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCE, ACT 114 FBI FINGERPRINT REPORT)

Junior Firefighter Program Ages 14-17

Currently the applications for the Junior firefighter program are paper hand in submission only. Please follow the directions below to submit an application for the Junior Firefighter Program. 

Cadets are applicants 14 & 15 Years old.

Junior Firefighters are 16 & 17 Years old.

The junior firefighter program offers many benefits to the younger genreations entering into the fire service. The Junior firefighters will comply with all child labor laws and junior firefighter regulations set by this fire department and the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 

 

Benefits to Cadets & Juniors Firefighters:

  • Free Fire Service training

  • Prepare for firefighter-1 National Profession Qualifications when you turn 18.

  • Particpate in fire prevention events

  • Scholarship to CCAC with FireVEST Program with 5 year commitment. see more

  • Allowing youth to gain insight and interest in becoming long-term members of the emergency services.

  • Increasing awareness among youth about volunteering and supporting the fire and emergency services.

  • Providing departments with additional help in accomplishing non-firefighting or non-emergency tasks.

  • Leadership development for America’s youth, who are tomorrow’s leaders.

  • Educating parents and mentors on the importance of encouraging volunteerism.

  • Training teenagers in firefighting and emergency services. Typical activities include practicing firefighting techniques, communication using radios, practicing first aid, maintaining firefighting gear, firefighting drills and responding to emergency calls.
