2016 Annual Fund Drive
Dear Fellow South Fayette Resident:
For over 80 years, South Fayette Volunteer Fire Department has provided top-notch emergency services to the residents, workers and visitors of South Fayette Township. Our department is 100 percent volunteer with no paid officers, members or staff. On average, our 27 volunteers donate over 4,000 hours of their time annually by responding to approximately 150 calls, increasing their knowledge and proficiency through weekly training, coordinating department fundraising events and attending community outreach programs. We are fortunate to have one of the largest and strongest memberships in the region.
However, donations are critical to support our ability to serve the community. Our annual income has remained relatively flat while operating costs have risen year-over-year. We rely on your donations to fund day-to-day operations of the department. 100 percent of all funds received go directly to support our life saving mission by purchasing and maintaining necessary firefighting vehicles, outfitting our firefighters with the appropriate protective equipment and funding training opportunities for our members.
It is with these things in mind that we need to ask for your help. Please be generous with a donation to help us continue to provide excellent emergency services to you. Donations can be made by mail using a check or electronically online at We greatly appreciate any help you can give us.
If you are interested in also donating some of your time, whether as a firefighter or social member of the department, we encourage you contact us for more information at (412) 257-2755 or visit the department website at www.southfayettevfd.com.
